Hanover Township, PA

Hanover Township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, had a population of 11,424 at the 2020 census.  

The township has a total area of 19.2 square miles and is separated from Plymouth and Plymouth Township by the Susquehanna River. The south side of the township is mountainous, rising to 2,148 feet at the summit of Haystack Mountain on the southeast border. The township lies directly between the cities of Wilkes-Barre and Nanticoke.

The villages of Hanover include Askam, Breslau, Buttonwood, Hanover Green, Iona, Korn Krest, Lee Park, Lower Askam, Newtown, and Preston.

Hanover Township has many industries, which employ thousands of people from the Township and from surrounding areas. The businesses located in the Hanover Industrial Park and Hanover Crossings Industrial Park constitute the major employers of Hanover Township.  

Hanover Township is a thriving community with diverse industry, desirable housing, abundant recreation, and quality schools.
